7/9/19 - Mom Letter to Emma
Sweet Emma,
It was SO great to talk to you yesterday! You seemed happy and
content. You were glowing with testimony and determination. I'm so
proud of you! Thanks for sharing stories about your mission travels.
What a blessing for you to be able to visit some of your
convert friends from previous areas. What a blessing to get to
visit/meet other missionaries from all over your mission. People are
the best! I love how you are teaching about the importance of
testifying of the Book of Mormon with your "selling candy"
activity. The Book of Mormon is indeed "sweet to my taste". There is
power in reading and studying it daily!
Us this week: our family is helping Dave Martin (he was Mormon at Book
of Mormon Youth Conference...he also does stuff at Hale Center) out with
his benefit concert. We aren't performing in it (but he did ask my
orchestra to help him out next Christmas) but
we are helping with a display/hosting. His foundation is "BeatALS"
where they raise money for ALS (aka Lou Gehrig's Disease) by having
different performers do Beatles songs. Delle and Vicki Morgan are also
helping. It should be a fun night.
My involvement with Herriman Art's Council is getting busier as we get
ready to start creating "School House Rock-Live Jr.". Mari is excited!
Hyrum will be helping with stage crew because he is too old to
participate. I'm glad you'll get to see the show!
It runs Sept 19-23. (I'm sorry we can't go to the cabin that
weekend). Hale Center also introduced auditions for a Children's Choir
directed by Kelly DeHaun. Mari is scheduled for an audition. Marilee
Wilson has been helping her with her audition piece.
She will be doing "Alone in the Universe" from Seussical.
Some bad news: I just got an email from our VRBO in Oahu. They said
they had to cancel our reservation because most Vacation Rental Homes
have been outlawed on Oahu. We will get a full refund but now we are
scrambling trying to find a place large enough
for our whole family on the North Shore. Prayers would be
appreciated.
Also, Dad has a review with his boss today. He will learn about his recent performance scores. Prayers are really needed!
Otherwise, everything here is great! We are very blessed and happy with
life. Family is wonderful! The gospel is peaceful. The Savior loves
us all!
We love you!
💜Mom
