5/13/19 - Family Letter to Emma
Sweet Emma,
It was so great to talk to you yesterday! Thanks for taking the time to
call us! That was definitely a highlight of Mother's Day! Since we
just spoke to you, there's not much to report...but I did forget to
mention a few things:
Kendle Wilcox got her mission call! She will be serving as a Service
Missionary, assigned by President O'Hara. She is excited to finally get
to be a missionary. She will be living at home. She is hoping to work
with the refugees.
Hyrum's "Romeo and Juliet" play is this week. Mrs. DeJesus told him
that for next year's musical, she's thinking of doing "Shrek" or
"Fiddler on the Roof"..... I get the feeling she's thinking with Hyrum
in mind. He would make a great Shrek or Tevya- the
Papa. Hyrum is really liking drama!
We are re-doing our firepit area. We have decided to enlarge the area a
bit and replace the wood-burning pit with a propane "fire table". We
can still roast stuff and get warm but without the stinky smoke. We
think it will be used more.
Grandma Mildred came to bookclub. She was adorable! She gave everyone a hug afterwards. I just LOVE that lady.
Jessica Ditty graduated from UVU in Mathematics. She will be teaching
Math at a high school! I'm so proud of that girl! Abby Kotter is
engaged. Emily Burton may or may not go on a mission. She has lately
been thinking about just going to school and searching
out a husband....we'll see. Isabelle Thorpe will be going to school at
the U. I'm glad Eve is strong because she will be missing her friends
as they grow up and move on. She is still deciding whether to stay in
YW or move on to Relief Society when she turns
18. I think her draw to stay in YW is so she can go to Girl's Camp
with Mari next summer. We'll see what she does.
I'm so proud of you. You are doing a great work. So many people love you and are praying for you. YOU ARE AWESOME!
💜Mom (and the family...who gave me ideas for this quick letter😉)
