3/26/19 - Lots of Good Things
Ok where to start gente?
1) The bishop here has a 7 year old son who was born in Riverton. Small
world. Anyway, duing lunch at their house he got slime in my hair.
I miss all my recent converts, claro, but my recent convert in
Aldeia, Luana has a cat and this cat misses me so much that he says my
name. They have a video of this cat saying my name. BARRRLOOOWW. I love
missions. kkkkk
Ok let's get real, I think between the times on my mission when
I've had and haven't had success, it's during the unsuccessful times
that I've learned the most.
Basically we're recieving a lot of miracles here in Santana. Like
people are just showing up out of the blue ready to mark baptism dates.
One of them was Tadeu. Long story short he had his baptismal interview
this week and passed. Sunday morning we caught
the wrong bus and then realized we didn't have bus money and a lot of
other things happened so running all over the place with ukulele and
Bolo do Batismo in hand was crazy. We had arranged to drop by the houses
of a few other people to show them where the
chapel is but becasue of this fiasco it didn't work out. Lesson
learned. Take them to the chapel duing the week so they know where it
is. We got there 5 minutes before the meeing started and Where's Tadeu?
Not there. We'll keep working with him but the font
was full we had cake and a song on the ukulele but no baptismal
candidate. The ward was super chill and helpful about it thank heavens.
We got to go to the temple today and that's why I'm emailing a day later than usual.
On the way there we sang hymns with all the missionaries in our
zone while on the subway and made a lot of contacts and on the way back
two rappers on the subway made a rap of how they have respect for Sister
Matias and I because we take the word of God
to all people. I lvoe São Paulo gente.
Good grief I have missed the temple. I worked for a while in the
Oquirrh Mountain Temple and got used to being there so often, but now
that I only get to go every 6 months I've gained a greater appreciation
for the ordinances there. I went with specific
questions and got specific answers. My heart is so full especailly with
the ajustments. I have such a strong testimony of the necessity of
temple ordinances. People, these ordiances are evidence that The Church
of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the only
true chuch on the face of the Earth. Only through these ordinances can
we truly make it to "heaven" as many people say. On the mission you talk
to a lot of people who try to tear your beliefs down and prove the
chruch to be false. It's intersting how when
that happens I can pull out the scriptures and it becomes clear that
their claims are indeed weak because every bit evidence of the
truthfulness of the church and the gospel is written there in the
scriptures. I'm so thankful for the Plan of Salvation. I know
that we're all here preparing in THE LAST of the last days for the
coming of our Savior and I could not be more excited. Let's get a move
on folks. There's so much we need to do. Give your local missionaries
refrences, open your mouth and invite the grocery
store clerk to visit the church, spend time in the temple, find your
ancestors on

"The Standard of Truth has been erected; no unhallowed hand can stop the work from progressing; persecutions may rage, mobs may combine, armies may assemble, calumny may defame, but the truth of God will go forth boldly, nobly, and independent, till it has penetrated every continent, visited every clime, swept every country, and sounded in every ear, till the purposes of God shall be accomplished, and the Great Jehovah shall say the work is done.”
I testify that that's true. It won't stop until the Lord says it's
done. Each of us has 2 options, get on board, or get out of the way. So
let's continue to help with this great work! Whoot!
Hurrah for Israel!
Sister Barlow.
