8/13/18 - Nos a lei é BATIZAR!
I realized I never talked about my Book of Mormon
challenge from last transfer. Thank you to all that took the challenge
with me. I always feel so much joy when I read the Book of Mormon and I
loved it in Portuguese just as much as I love it in English.

We had splits with our STLs this week. You know what that means?
Noite a pajama com pizza! Whoot! I leaned so much and it was a blast.
Francisca's daughter Juliet was recently baptized into the church
Quadrangular. She had the pastor coming to say a prayer with their
family and she wanted us to be there. We were nervous. We don't want to
be bashing religions with anyone, but we went. She trusts us and knows
there is power in our prayers so it meant a lot that she'd want us
there. It went really well. There were a lot of things the pastor said
that I really liked. However, not knowing a lot about the LDS church he
said we don't have priesthood authority on the earth today and that's
why it's so important to seach for God through the scriptures. We talked
with Fabio and Francisca the next day and explained that this was a
great example of how many churches talk about good things, but they only
have a part of the truth. Here though the RESTORED gospel. We have the
full, complete, everlasting truth. What a blessing!
Weird bit of knowledge for the week: DORA SPEAKS ENGLISH HERE!
Growing up we all learned a little bit of Spanish watching Dora, but
here she speaks English. "Yum yum yum, delicious!" Too funny!
Melena got baptized! There is debate if it's a baptism for the ward
or for the mission because she's a child of a member, but the member is
less active. We're kind of the ones that reactivated her and we are the
one who taught Melena the lessons. I dont know it's kind of
complicated. Tudo bem. A baptism is a baptism and another soul saved.
She was so excited I thought she might cannon ball into the font. All
the crianças in the ward sang Sou um Filho de Deus with me on ukulele as
apart of the baptismal service. It was awesome!
On the 24th all the São Paulo missions will have 2 Apostles coming to visit! Super pumped!
Thank you for your prayers this week. I've really felt them.
1) Melana's Baptism
2) Noite a Pajama
3) Sister Jales acting like a fabric softner model we found that looks like her
4) Irmã Delza, my Brasillian grandma. Her socks match her pajams just like Grandmother Mildred.
