6/18/18 - Emma Letter to Family

Im glad fathers day was a success! I hope you all have fun at camp, the fishing trip and all the other fun festiviteis. Hyrum, thats awesome fact about the world cup. Mari way to be a fun leader! All the pictures you all sent look great! sounds like a balst! 

I used dads d and c scripture to get members pumped about the work this week. we are trying to involve them more. 

Dad, a few doctrinal questions

1 my comp is the only member in her family and her mom passed away 8 years ago. Shes heard me talk about your awesome advice and scriptural knowlage so she asked me to ask you about this. Shes wondering if everyone in the spirit world gets to be here on earth with us as we go from day to day or just those is spirit paradise. i Shes wondering about her mom helping her during her mission. 

I also have a queston the gentiles. please help me understand who they are and what their purpose is. Thanks for sharing that thought about participating in the Lord's mission. I love that! Do you want a yellow brasil jersy? WOuld you actually wear one? google what they look like. ANyone else in the family want one? Theyre everywhere and super cheap right now because of the world cup. 

Kind of funny how ive found ways to apply marketing tequniqies that I learned in DECA to help me here as far as using peoples names and other things..

Mom: Ive felt your hugs all week! Ive sure needed them! Its been a little lonely this week. I had an awesome dream about a typical satuday with the fam at home, working in the yard, bbq and all. that was hard to wake up after. Have you gotten the facebook requests from members? They want to connect with you and swap recipies. What is a good substitute for sour cream. it doesnt exist here and Im making sugar cookies for a cute old lady names Delza whos a recent convert and is basically an even mix of both great grandmas. I love her. 

Ive been thinking a lot about grandma sanders this week. Im not sure why. I sure do love her and I know shes proud of what I'm trying to do here in brasil. 

My focus has been a lot better this week. thanks for your prayers! Ive thought a lot about what you said about begging. Im trying to become better at recieving the gift of dicernment to know if people are ready or not. Its been frusterating becuse it feels like were not getting anything done, people dont show up to church, they dont keep commitments, etc Im trying to be humble and go with the flow but its hard when I can think of a much more eficent way to do things but I cant communicate it. I love mt comp, but the age difference is sometimes a challenge. we have different battles and we are good at trying to help each other through them.

I love you all so much! ps heres a secret, ive gained 10 lbs since being here. eeeks! Not sure if its my belly or my leg muscles or both. all I know is my legs are sore rom the hills and the food is good. Portion control and workout time is my best friend haha!
