6/11/18 - Emma Letter to Family

Mari - Sounds like youre having a fun summer! Canibal seems too scary for me, but congrats on shaving!

Hyrum - Its crazy seeing pics of you at EFY, it seems like 2 summers ago I was at my first EFY. What was the favorite spiritual thing you learned? How did your testimony grow. SErving a mission has made me want to be an EFY counselor the summer I get home. Proud of you for dancing every dance. Keep up the studly studness.

Dad - reading Eves email about missing Parker's talk and Chitos catastrophe makes me really glad I wasnt there. HAHAHAHA! I love that Cristie threatened Hyrum and Cob about COWS. Im glad Hyrum was there to help Cob. Cabin workday sounds fun and productive. Uke is about 80 USD. The other American missionaries that have bought them plan to pack them with clothes in their suitcase. I dont think I need the keyboard thanks though. Letters with Breannan are good. I'm keeping them on a friend- bases. He's had some good advice about helping people keep committments and other things. He's given me some new ideas to try and find people to teach. YES PLEASE MAIL THAT LETTER! Ive been thinking about that letter this week. I'll talk more about my interview with President in a minute, but yes please send that! 

Mom - So cool you gor to watch a robin fly! Thanks for helping me learn to fly! Cute little Ella Koon! I'm writing those girls a letter about being a sister missioanry and I want to mail it to them. Will you please send me their address? I had no idea Eric had his call, good for him!

General:

I got the PACKAGE! I guess it takes about a month mais of meinos. I will get to pick up packages and letters twice a transfer at zone metting and muti zone concerences. THANK YOU SO MUCH! I was so excited to get cheeots and then I saw they were Jalepeno and I almost cried. The stickers are the best thing ever. Every missionary collects stickers on the back of their nametag and now I have some to give to friends! The sunglasses case is the best thing I didnt know I needed but I reall did need! Im so excited to read confrence talks again and teh office supplise is super helpful! My favorite part is the notes! I had a good laugh over those inside jokes. Ive decided its a flip book for tough days becasue it makes me smile so much! Thanks for the CTR 8 outline! When teaching malena (8 years old) this week I used the same concepts but acronyms didnt work out so I taught her actions instead. Super fun! picture below. 

I had an interview with Presidente this week. hes amazing! Ive been kind of frusterated with myself this week because even though I keep my letter with B at a friend level and dont have pictures out, Its been a challenge to focus. I want with all my heart to become a concencrated missionary and turn every thought, action, breath, and word, oven to doing His will and His work. I've talked to my comp about it and shes helped me learn to pull out a notebook and try to memorize a scripture or hymn when my thoughts drift. Ive found my biggest time of weakness is when we are walking the long distance to the other side of our area (about an hour away on foot) That's helped a lot, but Ive been praying about how I can focus better and I was told to talk to Presidente. He is so kind and gives great advice. Its a tender mercy I was able to understand hiim in portuguese. He told me to read 2 talks ( I did and theyre amazing) 1) Becoming a concencrated missioanry and 2) The 4th missionary. The mission binder they gave us when we arrived had these talks in them but in portuguese. While I was in my fit of frustrarttion I found a mission binder an old missionary left in our apartment that was in English. I knew that was meant just for me. I want to be come concencrated. I want to become the 4th missionary. I want to change my nature, not just my behavior. (I think its awesome how most of the talks dad sent me before I got my call were also in the mission binder) I highly reccomend you all read the 4th missionary. It has great principles that everyone can apply. Preisidente told me to train my brain to flip into focus every morning. As ive practiced this its helped a lot. He also told me to be patient with myself. He told me its a proccess and he can see my faith and desire to do whats right. Im glad he can see how hard I'm trying. Every day gets a little better. I love my mission!

Dad, HAPPY FATHERS DAY! Youre the best dad ever and im super thankful for your constant advice and counsel!

We stopped by Ricardo's the other day to check up on him. He had a dream about the spirit world (which he previously did not believe in) He said I was in it. When he tells people aboput it they tell him hes crazy. I know this was part of Heavenly father helping him realize an answer. He said he was confused when he woke up so he started reading the Book of Mormon. He recently got engaged and is still hesitant about baptism. Weve stopped teaching him, but Im praying that Ill get to see him baptized before I leave this area. I think he needs a little time to think about what weve taught.
